About 20 minutes from Cagliari, La Maddalena spiaggia spiaggia is better known as Petrol Beach, because located in the middle between 2 oil&gas areas.

Despite the name of Petrol Beach, La Maddalena Spiaggia has clean beach and clear blue sea.

Even that Scirocco blows well, the best wind at Petrol Beach is the thermic wind (sea breeze) coming side shore with an intensity of about 10-20 knots during the hot and sunny days (usually from May to September). Mistral (wind from North west) is off-shore, so it is not a good wind in this spot.

To the left and right of Petrol Beach, there are other small beaches less crowded where the sea breeze works well anyway.

Sometimes can be on the water many seaweed (seaweed is synonymous with clean water) that can cause some problems especially to the beginners.

At La Maddalena Spiaggia there is a big parking, suitable also for motorhomes. During the summer season, in Petrol Beach, there are several facilities: a kite lane and a chiosco Bar.

During the summer, with no other perturbations, there are just one place for kitesurfing without fail: Petrol Beach.
